The Future of SEO

Search engine optimization is the past, the present, and the future for anybody who is trying to make a living over the World Wide Web. However, even though we all know the past and the present of SEO, few of us have a keen interest in the future of this discipline. We all think about now, and we all think about what to do today in order to get the coveted results tomorrow. However, why not think about SEO in advance? Why not think about what SEO will be like in the future, and what we can do now that will make sure our place in the online world is safe tomorrow?

Keeping Pace with the Constant Changes in SEO

The first thing to think about here is keeping pace with all the changes presented to us by Google. Google is the present and quite surely the future of Internet search, so if you want to be able to create effective SEO strategies tomorrow, you simply have to keep pace with the changes that are happening today. Google is constantly making changes to their search algorithms in order to separate the relevant and worthy results from the results that are basically spam and carry no weight at all. Therefore, think about why Google is making these changes, and where these changes will lead all of us.

Forget about Spammy Content

It is obvious that Google is trying to provide their users with an experience that will make them come back to this search engine, and you have to work in accordance with this. Spammy and keyword-stuffed content is a thing of the past. The future of SEO lies in, among other things, genuine written content. All the written content you use in your SEO endeavors has to be good enough for people to actually gain something from it, and this is what Google is trying to do – push good and relevant content up in SERP’s, and avoid spam and pure advertizing in their results.

Think about the End User

Many Internet marketers often forget that without the end user, there is no money to be made with SEO. Search engine optimization is just a glorified tool that should help you get your content to the reader, but what about paying more attention to the next step? What happens when the end user determines that the content is not good or relevant enough? This is the future of SEO – keeping the end user well-informed and happy, which will in turn keep them coming back to what you do.

Social Media and SEO

In spite of the fact that it is difficult to accurately predict what kind of impact social media will have on SEO in the future, it is safe to say that these two entities will only grow closer and become mutually inclusive. The major players in the social media field are only growing bigger and more powerful, and this will certainly have a large impact on the future of SEO. Therefore, keep in mind that social media should never be seen as a whole different animal from SEO, but rather as something that should be used alongside SEO to achieve the best results.
